Auditorio is the second album of piano compositions by Argentine electronic musician Ismael Pinkler, once again interpreted by pianist Nicolás Bacal.
While Nocturnos, its predecessor, was composed entirely through digital tools in a deeply personal and experimental way, Auditorio seeks to further develop that process in pursuit of an aesthetic that feels equally post-ambient and post-impressionist. To achieve this, Pinkler and Bacal engaged in an extensive collaborative process centered on the writing, reading, and interpretation of musical scores.

If the pre-production of Nocturnos revolved around translating an artificial, digital language into an acoustic and human one, Auditorio moves even deeper into composition and interpretation, aiming to push beyond the sonic and performative depth of the previous album.
The record is made up of thirteen pieces of varying lengths and emotional states. Some approach a song-like format within Pinkler’s universe; others continue the ambient and static qualities explored in Nocturnos; while others unfold through complex and inorganic structures.
Taken as a whole, Auditorio highlights a defining aspect of the project: these works do not emerge from a pianist composing directly at the instrument, but from the experiments and intuitions of an experimental electronic musician translating his methods, listening practices, and compositional logic from the computer to the piano, discovering there a new territory within his sonic interests.
