STA039 | Antiguo Autómata Mexicano | Surspacea

Static Discos is proud to release Antiguo Autómata Mexicano‘s Surspacea EP. In a recent interview, AAM explained the desire to create a recording of cosmic rock at its core, grounded and earthly and not as an escape route to other worlds, but as a space where kraut, disco, techno and progressive sounds melt into something else. To augment the four track EP, AAM enlisted the remix services of Mexican psych-krauters SLZR, Chile’s techno wunderkind Andrés Bucci and Mexican avant-garde musician Walter Schmidt. The EP was composed and produced by Ángel Sánchez Borges in Monterrey, México, 2011. In this record Antiguo Autómata Mexicano is processing digital audio signals and plays drums, guitar and bass guitar. Artwork by Rubén A. Tamayo.

“Surspacea is the space where we transit in concrete, not the exterior of space but the place of all our trajectories, the space of what is ours, the space of everything that helps to find ourselves”. – Ángel Sánchez Borges
