One of our favorite songstress, Florencia Ruiz, has just released a new album in her native Argentina. The album is called Luz De La Noche (Light of the Night) and it’s a collection of songs recorded with producer and orchestra director Carlos Villavicencio (Spinetta, Ruben Rada, Fito Páez and Charly García). The album includes many guest musicians, including Jaques Morelenbaum, Hugo Fattoruso, Juan Quintero, Pablo Agri, Mono Hurtado, Jerónimo Izaurralde and Ariel Minimal. She describes hew new album as “a way of opening new doors and reaching other people”.
“It’s an album that unravels itself after repeated listenings. It’s a work akin to the special innards of a clock that can be listened with friends, in the car or while traveling”, Florencia concludes. Florencia recently returned from Japan, where she toured with local musicians while promoting her new recording. The album is to be released in the US by Adventure Music and in México by Static Discos sometime within 2011. More details soon. In the meantime listen some of the new songs of the album in Florencia’s soundcloud page.
